This is a case of a 11 year old boy with bilateral congenital dislocation of the hip. He was operated on the right side using open reduction with femoral shortening, varus osteotomy ads salters procedure was done for the containment of the hip joint. |
| This was performed just before the medical model facility was available. Model offered a real-life 3-dimensional picture of the dislocated joint with proper status of the opposing surface and irregularities of the femoral head, acetabular index and congneity. |  |

It was possible to reconstitute the post surgical picture pre-operatively and visually corelate the effectiveness of the surgery on one side. This also established the planning of the surgery of the second side. |
